Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. It has been set up in memory of my brother David who lost his battle with cancer in May 2020.
David had many interests through his life. Playing the tuba started while at secondary school and he continued to play throughout his adult life. He was a member of the Beckenham Concert Band for many, many years. David played a major role in organising their tour to Normandy and to Neuweid, Germany.
David also supported the Crystal Palace Progress Band.
David would also play for the Ravensbourne Morris Men and was always made welcome by the dancers and other musicians. He accompanied them on several town twinning tours to Neuweid.
David was a Speical constable for 9 years rising to the rank of Sergeant responsible for 5 special constables.
His whole working life was spent with Nat West/RBS. Starting at 18 as a bank clerk, passing his banking exams and branching out into commercial/business banking. David enjoyed the banking community and made lots of friendships through all the roles he held.
Working allowed him to pursue another interest, that of foreign travel. David visited and explored many countries during his life. Highlights included completing the Inca trail in Peru, climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, watching wildlife in South Africa, Botswana, India, Borneo, Canada and USA.
David's cancer did not stop him living life to the full.
Please remember him as a fun loving man who took life seriously when required but found humour in everything he did.
