Story
Starting May 18th 2014 I will be walking 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire National Coastline with my friend Lyn in two weeks. We are doing this in memory of my sister Helen Durham, and for the Multiple Sclerosis Society because we want your help in reaching our target of £5000 which will help offer hope for an end to MS in our lifetime. Helen faced many challenges with this condition and now our challenge is to help other families lead longer lives and experience a better quality of life .
Helen lost her battle with MS in 2001 at the age of 36. Staff at the University Hospital of Wales were so inspired by Helen's courage that the centre for Neurology was opened in her name in September 2004. The Helen Durham Multiple Sclerosis Centre has helped thousands of people understand and come to terms with their diagnosis, having access to new symptom modifying treatments. Although the ultimate aim is to find a cure for this devastating condition, it is also about helping those with MS to lead fuller lives.
