Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who weren't aware my godson Carter was born in July 2009 with a diaphragmatic hernia. He spent several weeks in the intensive care department of Sheffield Childrens hospital but thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses made it through a difficult time and was able to go home.
Sadly, just before christmas on December 10 he was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. 24hrs later every major organ in his body had stopped working and he had to have CPR performed twice to bring him back to life. The machines were struggling to keep him alive and the doctors prepared his parents for the worst and were told to say their goodbye's.
Thanks to the incredible work of the hospital staff and the state of the art equipment the doctors really did save his life. He's had several operations and is now on a long road to recovery. He has a few more operations ahead of him and then hopefully he will be able to come home in May.His mum Laura and dad Baz have been pretty much living at the hospital since christmas - very difficult for them as they have a 3 year old daughter Megan. Megan has been a little star throughout this and is a wonderful nurse to her little brother.
The hospital are currently raising money for a state of the art CT Scanner. It will benefit thousands of patients and will keep the hospital at the forefront of pediatric excellence for years to come.
To help them i'm taking part in the Zip Slide Challenge at Hillsborough Stadium. I'll go from the top of the kop all the way across the pitch!!!!
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks
