Story
We’re lacing up our running shoes for Can Do. On the 25th of May 2025, we’ll be taking on the Edinburgh Half Marathon to raise much-needed funds for a charity that empowers individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Can Do is an exceptional charity offering fun, friendship and adventures for young people with disabilities living in East Lothian.
As a unique, long-running, parent-led Scottish success story, Can Do has been providing fantastic activity programmes for youngsters with additional support needs since 1982. With an annual activity calendar which includes school holiday playschemes, term time weekly youth clubs, residential weekends and family fun days, there’s so much to do with Can Do, and so much fun to be had. Activities range from arts and crafts, hula-hooping and marshmallow-toasting to trampolining, swimming, encounters with animals and even kayaking.
As we train for the race, we reflect on the countless individuals whose lives have been transformed by Can Do’s programs. This isn’t just about running 13.1 miles—it’s about running for a future where everyone, regardless of their challenges, can live with dignity, confidence, and opportunity.
By supporting our journey, you're helping to provide the vital resources that Can Do needs to continue their incredible work. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference in the lives of people who are striving to live fuller, more independent lives.
We’re proud to be running for such an inspiring cause, and we hope you'll join us in making this race a meaningful one. Please consider donating today and helping us cross the finish line for Can Do Charity.
Thank you for your support!
