DD's Spinnaker Tower Abseil · 22 June 2015

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Hmm - I remember volunteering for this and then it was too late to back out. Might have had something to do with the volume of Doom Bar consumed over the past few months . . .

but on the 22nd June 2015, I and 39 of my colleagues, are going to abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). The Spinnaker Tower is 170m high and 2.5 x the height of Nelsons Column (fnnarrr).

A few years ago one of my colleagues was diagnosed with MND, and the MNDA have helped him enormously to cope with the changes that this debilitating disease has brought to his life.

We're looking to raise £20K in total, but thankfully my bit is just £200.

So - you can sponsor me to abseil 170m (that's 557.75 feet in old money) - or just pay to watch a grown man in brown trousers cry - and then probably fall the last 169m.

Many thanks in advance.
