Story
Hi all,
For the Ark Evelyn Grace Academy 5000km sports day challenge I am running and / or cycling 100km over the next 2 weeks for fair access to education for our students. This is so that all our GCSE students can get a chromebook to help them through this time of need due to the learning lost during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Many do not have access to proper devices or laptops, having to use phones or sharing with several other members of the household. In most households in the U.K. it is a given that children can do homework and research with their own devices: those that cannot are those for whom the attainment gap is already wide.
Our aim is that every child will have Chrome Book and a fair access to education.
P.S. The Government’s pledge to provide schools with resources for lap tops NEVER materialised!
Any donation you make will support the school in three areas:
- Access to technology to ensure students have 1:1 learning opportunities and can learn at home.
- Academic programmes to close the increased learning gap as a result of the school closures.
- Wellbeing and mental health support for those students who require it.
Any donation is kindly appreciated.
Thank you.
