Story
We made it! From a cold and wet Paris to a warm sunny Geneva (albeit very wet, windy and slippery on the final descent) via some wonderful French countryside and towns with some fantastic fellow riders (but a distinct lack of summer weather....). Sadly there was no time for wine tasting in Burgundy but there was a Tour de France hill to climb. It's only once you have ground up a hill for an hour and a half without stopping that you appreciate just how small the hills in England are!
It was tough but a great adventure and a huge, huge thank you to all of my supporters whose backing spurred me on through the various knee blow ups and hamstring howls. I couldn't have done it without you and the Nurofen.
350 miles, close to 20,000 feet of climb and fortunately no tumbles although a few riders did hit the tarmac; we had one broken collarbone, some blown knees, an "almost over the edge" on a mountain pass and a few whose bodies couldn't take them all the way - but mercifully nothing worse for the group given the speed and size of French trucks...
