Story
This is my first marathon. After taking part in various 5 and 10k races over the last couple of years and also the Wimbledon Common Half Marathon last year I thought I'd step it up and go the full distance. The Brighton Marathons great. A lot of it is along the seafront and I'm really looking forward to it. I've got a lot of training to do in the meantime which I've got well under way.
I am raising money for St. Georges again, as I did for the British London 10k in the summer- massive thanks to everyone who sponsored me then.
This time the money raised will go towards funding to provide for Neurosurgical Equipment for the benefit of surgical patients and staff at St. Georges. A recent example of the money that has been donated to this fund has gone towards a piece of equipment called an Intra-Operative Ultrasound Machine which enables surgeons to locate and identify brain tumors in a much faster and cost effective way.
Sadly our family lost a very close friend to cancer recently.
Eric Burrowes was one of the best people I have ever known. He was lovely and very kind. He was very funny as well. He was my dads boss and best friend. He was a top man. He was a massive music fan, he loved the Stones and the Who most of all.
I would like to dedicate my run to the memory of Eric.
I would really appreciate it if you would like to donate to this worthy cause. Every little bit helps!
