Story

So I have taken on the daunting yet exciting task of running the London Marathon in April 2020. For those of you who know me well, this will be both a physical and mental battle for me and it will take a lot of strength (and pain). I have decided to run for
the Jesuit Refugee Service UK. This charity provides vital support for refugees and forced migrants and seeks to accompany, serve and advocate for this vulnerable group of people. As a South African, I am all too aware of the difficulties faced by our brothers and sisters who are forced to leave their countries for a better life only to discover more difficulties and discrimination in South Africa, the same is true in the UK. Leaving home to move to London, I was blessed with close friends and family who could support me and make me feel at home - I can’t imagine what it would be like to leave my home, alone, with no one to turn to.

So if my little bit of pain on my journey to and in this marathon can help to provide relief and support to our brothers and sisters in need, then it would be so worth it.

We all need someone to lean on and to help me along the way, my friend Andrea Borain will be running alongside with me (for as much as I can keep up) for JRS UK.

However, we need your support to make this happen :)
