Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had not heard of the Lisa Lowe Centre or the work that Manx Cancer Help do prior to experiencing first hand, what an incredible service they provide. My father wasdiagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2012 and found emotional refuge in the Lisa Lowe Centre. He was never anoverly emotional person and liked to listen. Dad would visit the Centre just to be there, not necessarily talk about cancer, treatment or the deeper 'meaning of life' type discussions which sometimes surface in the face of news like this, but just to be somewhere where he knew people wanted to support him in any way possible.
I have decided to take this one step further and have set myself the challenge of walking, unaided, across England. I will walk from Robin Hood's Bay at the North Sea in Yorkshire, to St Bees on the Irish Sea in Cumbria. I'll be following the route devised by Wainwright and aim to walk approximately 192 miles. I'll be carrying food with me and camping along the way.

My goal is to raise £2.50 per mile which will total £576. I'll be taking my canine companion Freyja who will be walking the entire distance with me. Freyja will sleep in the tent also and have to do part of the carrying. If you would like to support Freyja, please visit her page here: https://www.justgiving.com/Freyja-Retriever
