RVI Ward 12 PICU - GNR 2015

Great North Run 2015 · 13 September 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm raising funds for Ward 12 at Newcastle RVI where my Niece's daughter , Phoebe Simpson was born 12/11/13 at only 36 weeks and weighing 5 lb 6 oz .
Phoebe was very ill when she was born and was immediately rushed away for emergency operations .
After days/weeks of agonising waits for Adele and Andrew , Phoebe got to go home before Christmas and is now an absolutely gorgeous healthy , happy little girl as you can see above .
Last year I had already made commitments to support 2 other charities so this year I'd like to help raise funds for Ward 12 at the RVI in support of the marvellous work they do for all sick children and the support they give to the families involved .
The Great North Children's Hospital (GNCH) at the RVI in Newcastle offers the most extensive range of children's services anywhere outside of London. It has special wards, operating theatres, outpatients and day case suites, all tailored just for children. It even has its own Accident and Emergency Department. Our young patients include thousands of local children from the North East and Cumbria as well as those who travel with their families from across the country, and even the world, to benefit from the GNCH's specialist services.
Because children get better more quickly when they are in an environment they enjoy, the GNCH is designed to be welcoming and as different from a traditional hospital as possible. We believe there is no better place for a sick or injured child or young person to be when they need expert care.
Our Great North Children's Hospital Fund has already helped to provide sensory equipment, toys, games consoles, DVD players and other entertainments and comforts which go far beyond what the NHS alone could provide. Your donations also help us to buy the most up-to-date equipment faster than would otherwise be possible and assist us with important research to identify the very newest techniques and treatments in paediatric medicine.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
