Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Clare Run in Memory of Gerry Crowley's JustGiving page.
The Clare Run was founded in 2009 by Gerry Crowley or STD1300 for those who knew him through the IEC. Every year during the month of March we've travelled around the county taking in the spectacular views that our little county has to offer. Sadly, in April 2018 Gerry passed away and since then we as his family decided to keep the run going in his memory. Over the years we have raised funds for Our Lady's Hospital in Crumblin, The Jack and Jill Foundation and the West Clare1000.
Due to the current circumstances, the 2021 addition of the Clare Run is unable to go ahead but we won't be letting the day go without marking the occasion. This year we will be hosting a virtual show and shine in aid of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Tommy's(Gerry's brother) wife Aine is currently on a waiting list for a Guide dog to help increase her independence. it costs roughly €53'000 to train a guide or assistance dog, which brings the gift of independence and mobility to their owners.
We do hope that you all will get involved in our 2021 Virtual Show and shine and raise some much needed funds for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and donating what you can.
As always we thank each and every one of the IEC members who have supported our run as without you the members, there would be no Clare Run.
