Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my justgiving page.
As most of you are well aware I am running the London Marathon in April, I am not a runner and never have been. This makes the marathon more of a challenge to complete, although not nearly as much as facing such a diagnosis as my sister and many others do. I have felt incredibly helpless during my sister’s illness so deciding to run the marathon this year, raising money for this fantastic and very relevant cause, has really given me a focus and a way to do something positive.
The support I have received is both overwhelming and motivating. I completed the Adidas half marathon and running home from work where people have shouted, spat and obstructed me on my way. Training is really hard but when you get to see a justgiving page as well supported as this you realise how many people believe you can do it and are behind you.
I am privileged to be running for the Brain & Spine Foundation, a fantastic charity committed to improving services, recognition and awareness of the impact of neurological conditions (as well as supporting me constantly!). There are 10 million people living in the UK with a neurological condition which has a significant impact on their lives. Unfortunately brain tumour research is massively underfunded and as a result not enough is known about its causes and the effective cures for treatment. This charity will always have my support, it’s a fantastic team and I am proud to say I am a part of it.
Thank you and be generous ;o) xxx
