Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of you will know Rugby is a passion of mine and as Movember is about mental health alongside the other aspects, I wanted to pick this local charity for the great work they do.

At the end of Movember if I reach the target I will dye my moustache blonde, dress like Hulk Hogan and do a 1 hour PT session dressed like this. For every £100 (or part there of) over the target I will add 5 mins to the session.

About JOCA

Following the tragic loss of two young playing members through suicide, a few like-minded club members felt they had a social responsibility to offer support, guidance and a friendly ear in a time of need. And that steps should be taken to help destigmatise mental health amongst young men and women.

Mental illness is an often unspoken about issue and is sadly the biggest killer of young men in the UK aged 22 to 42. If you have a physical injury you report it to your coach and seek advice and go see the club physio, but with mental issues you soldier on and hope it goes away.

JOCA is dedicated to promoting and ensuring pastoral care and general well-being for all members of our rugby club. With your help- our aim is to break socially constructed barriers and use a typically 'macho' sport as a way to get young men and women to talk openly and sympathise with each other.
