We support local partners around the world to combat avoidable blindness.

Story

On October 7  2012, staff members of African Petroleum will participate in the Royal Parks half marathon in support of Sightsavers International.

Sightsavers is an international charity which works with partners across the globe to eliminate avoidable blindness, create sustainable public health systems by training eye care professionals and promoting equality of opportunity for disabled people in the developing world.

 Key accomplishments in 2011 include:

· Over 31 million treatments to prevent or cure blindness

· 251,048 sight-restoring cataract operations

· Training 134,413 people to deliver primary eye care to diagnose and treat eye problems

· Successful administration of over 79.5 million treatments to protect against neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)

In support of their West Africa projects, African Petroleum will match funds up to £50,000 raised by our employees participating in the event.

We hope that with your support and through your sponsorship, millions more will avoid preventable blindness and achieve access to quality healthcare.
