Story
Decades of conflict have eroded the fabric of Afghan civil society. Sanctions against Afghanistan have left millions of people on the brink of a man-made famine. The recent droughts, floods and earthquakes have also exacerbated conditions of desperation across the country.
Ultimately, its the innocent men, women and children- civilians caught up in the aftermath of war that are suffering the most. We have been supporting Afghan refugee families in the work we do locally through community outreach work in Manchester.
I lead an emergency mission last year to Afghanistan to provide emergency support to those facing starvation and destitution in the aftermath of conflict and natural disasters. Please see below how you can support the ongoing campaigns
£60 - Emergency Food Packs
Items include basic staples such as Rice, Beans, Sugar, Tea, Cooking Oil, Flour etc which will sustain an average family of 5 for one month.
£100 - Emergency Kit
Items include Sanitation items, towels, pates, cooking pots, bucket etc
£600 - provides an emergency shelter outside damaged homes and indoor partitioning to provide privacy to families. This will also support rehabilitation of buildings, installation or repair of doors and windows.
Please donate on this dedicated link, Contact 07940568586 to be added on to the broadcast list to follow updates of the journey or follow my stories on Instagram @DrShameela. You can also text the same number for cash donations- our team will pick up from you and issue a receipt.
I ask for your prayers and continued support for my team. We are no strangers to working in post conflict areas and are looking to support many displaced families to survive their destitution through food and basic necessities for survival.
Once our needs assessments and aid distributions are complete, we will look at longer term sustainable support in sha Allah. May this campaign be a blessing for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan and may peace and stability come to the region soon....Ameen
