Story
Since January I have been torturing my body in preparation for the Antwerp half IronMan 70.3 triathlon, which I will be participating in, with my good friend Simon Lister, on the 25th July. The "70.3" part of the name is the number of miles I will be enduring, in hopefully under six hours - 1.2 miles swimming, 56 miles cycling and then 13.1 miles running/staggering! I have been training 4 or 5 times a week, taken part in the Lichfield "Sprint" Triathlon, and in a few weeks time will be taking part in the Liverpool "Olympic" Triathlon, all in preparation for the half IronMan.
I was hoping to get donations for "Nick & Adrian's Master Bedroom & Ensuite Fund" but this doesn't seem to be a recognised charity???? Instead I will be hugely grateful if you are able to donate to any of the charities I have chosen. The target I have set is to raise £10/mile for each charity and, if this looks possible, I might work even harder and set myself the target of completing the event in 5 1/2 hours!
I have had to set up three pages as this is the only way to distribute your donations to three different charities. The charities I have chosen are Cancer Research UK, The British Heart Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. These charities help people with illnesses that have, or are currently, affecting close family & friends of mine. The page you are on now is for donating to Cancer Research UK. You can reach the other pages through the following links:http://www.justgiving.com/AdrianPatterson-heart

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
I will write updates regarding my training/progress, and whether I make it through swimming in the Liverpool docks, on my Facebook page. Through this you will be able to see that I am, for a change, working hard for money!
Many thanks for taking the time to visit this justgiving page.
Best wishes
Adrian
