Story
If you’ve walked the streets of Manchester, you’ve almost certainly passed by a rough sleeper. In fact, you’ve probably noticed that there are more people living and sleeping out on the streets.
In 2010, the official rough sleeper figure was 7. In 2018, it was 94. Unfortunately, we know that in reality, the number is much higher. Being homeless is not having a home to call your own. This means that there are hundreds of hidden homeless people in Manchester living in hostels, emergency and temporary accommodation, or on friends’ sofas. And they all need our help.
Homelessness is devastating at any time of year but at Christmas, when Manchester is full of party goers and people shopping for loved ones, the difference between those that have and those that don’t, is sadly easy to see. We know you want to make a difference so we've come up with some suggestions of how you can help bring Joy at this special time of year.
There are some complex issues around homelessness and how it can be solved and there are some amazing organisations who are doing great work to help those less fortunate than ourselves. One of these organisations is Barnabus who are based in the city centre on Bloom Street, Manchester, England. M1 3LY.
We at Adana Construction are keen to continue our support for Barnabus and help those less fortunate than ourselves this Christmas, we would like to count on your support to make this happen.
