This is without doubt, the most ridiculous challenge I have ever attempted. What is Everesting I hear you ask...
Everesting involves climbing the height of Mount Everest in a single bike ride (total elevation = 8,848m). The idea is to find a climb, and repeat it multiple times until you have ridden the equivalent elevation of 8,848m.
To put in to context, it would be riding up and down Box Hill 71 times! As an estimate, one loop of Box Hill could take 15 mins, which would mean approx 18 hours of riding. I will of course be allowed to stop for food and rest, but needs to be completed in one continuous ride!
I will be attempting this starting on 26 Sept and finishing during the day of 27 Sept.
All support will be hugely appreciated, both in terms of contributions to the amazing Whizz-Kidz charity, and support on the day of the ride. I think I'm going to need it. I best get training!
Whizz-Kidz - Their mission is to transform the lives of disabled children by providing the equipment, support and life skills they need, when they need them – giving them the chance to develop their full potential. It's not just about providing mobility equipment, which is of course important, but their Ambassador clubs provide training and help improve these children's confidence in order to succeed.
