Story

In October 2012, I decided to participate in various events to raise awareness and contribute to the marvellous work taking place at The Lullaby Trust (formerly FSID).The organisation provides specialist support for bereaved families and anyone affected by a sudden infant mortality.

Here is a list of things your money could pay for:

£1 could buy a room thermometer, to help maintain a safe temperature for babies

£5 could pay for an information pack to raise awareness of our safer sleep messages among teenage parents

£5 could pay for a Bereavement Support Pack for a newly bereaved family

£15 could provide one hour of helpline support from trained advisors

£35 could pay for the support of a trained Befriender for a family, offering them vital listening support from someone who is also bereaved

£50 could allow a family of four to go to one of our family days out,helping bereaved families get together in a friendly and informal environment to share experiences and gain strength from each other

£110 could train A&E staff in how best tosupport families when a baby dies

£140 could help pay for one day of specialist training for new CONI Coordinators, to support bereaved parents who have another baby

£550 could train bereaved parents who wish to support other families ;Befrienders in the future

£690 could pay for baby breathing monitor, helping to give peace of mind to bereaved families who caring for a new baby

£1570 could cover the cost of one of our regional Family Days Out, helping bereaved families meet in a friendly& environment and share experiences

£5,000 could cover the cost of trained advisors on our Helpline for two months, providing a lifeline for bereaved families
