Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We have decided that now is the time to try & raise some funds for the British Kidney Patient Association and to also try to raise awareness of the daily battles that people with kidney failure face.
Our beautiful daughter Sofia was born with kidney failure. She is nearly 7 now, but she has spent almost the past seven years on dialysis and basically, in one way or another, fighting for her life. Wether it be the constant infections requiring emergency hospital treatment, horrible seizures or major surgery she fights to keep going! She started dialysis just before her 1st birthday, this involved travelling a six hour round trip to Bristol Children's Hospital three times a week. A few years later she received a kidney transplant, but this unfortunately failed within a week. We carried on with the Bristol trips until we were able to start doing Peritoneal Dialaysis at home! Absolutely life changing for us all!!! Three years later we are now on the verge of going back to Haemo Dialaysis at Bristol again, but we're enjoying the time at home as much as we can. Despite this she never moans or complains, she goes to school as much as she can and 'lives' her life the best she can! She is the true meaning on the word 'miracle'!!
The British Kidney Patient Association has been there for us with support from the very start. There have been far too many times that we could not have managed without them!
So dig deep guys!!!
