Hi All

Abigail (my 7 year old) has been close friends with Joshua Blake since they were both in the womb! Joshua's amazing Mummy (Nicki)  was a childhood friend of mine and we were so excited to watch our children grow up together.

However tragedy struck on 11 November 2010 when, aged just 33, Nicki lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer which she had fought bravely and without a word of complaint.

Nicki's amazing husband Dan has set up a charity in her memory - Nicki's Smile, to raise money to fund vital research so other children don't have to grow up without their Mummy.

Abigail and Joshua are still very close friends and her and Emily (my 4 year old) will be running 1km with Joshua (and other school friends) on Sunday 14th June in support of Nicki's smile and as Abigail said "to help Joshua's Mummy in heaven".

I know 1km  may not seem so far to some of you but on their little legs it is hard work and I was moved by their desire to run side by side with their friend.
