Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Aanya's Appreciation page.
Aanya has been one of the many children out there who had frontline workers for parents during this pandemic, both working at the Emergency Department of Worcestershire Royal Hospital. The 'Lockdown' was very different for her. She had 'high-risk' parents who could barely touch/ cuddle her too close, who would come in from work and run off to sterilize themselves as much as possible before even speaking to her, who couldn't spend as much time helping with school work, who were writing their Wills in case things went wrong. Aanya was very frightened initially, but understood that it's the life her parents chose, and was resilient throughout. A long time has passed since then and we count our blessings everyday. I ask her to always be grateful to the Emergency Department of the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for taking care of Mummy and Daddy, while we took care of the sick. Nobody accepts any personal thanks in A & E because everything is teamwork. So instead, Aanya decided that she would say her thanks by raising funds for technology that will help poorly children attending A & E, such as a sensory projector to distract kids during ER procedures and 'Accu-Vein' devices to visualize veins easily in patients to minimize the pain caused to them when they attend in an emergency.
Aanya donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust charity at the age of 3 (see pics!) and that made her feel really good for helping poorly children who needed wigs. She wants to donate 16 inches of her hair this time, which will be sad because she loves playing 'Elsa' and 'Moana' and I love doing up her hair! But, this WILL make her feel even better and we want her to learn that happiness comes from helping those in need. As a family, we support our darling daughter paying it forward.
We wish you could make a donation, however small, towards this fundraiser as a token of appreciation for the place that is always there for all of us, pandemic or not. Thank you so much.
