Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On Friday the 21st of May I will be getting my ponytail cut off and donating it to the Rapunzel Foundation. I would also like to raise money for Brain Tumour Ireland which is why I set up this page. I feel that the aims of both charities are very much aligned with helping those battling with a disease to support their wellbeing. I would appreciate any donations you can make. Thank you in advance. Kind regards, Aishling
Details on both charities:The Rapunzel Foundation - Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that targets the hair follicles resulting in hair loss. This disease effects over 2% of the population.
Alopecia does not discriminate, this disease can affect anyone at any age and there is no cure, often times there is only painful ineffective treatments that only treat the symptoms but not the disease.
The Rapunzel Foundation is working to boost the level of hair donation in Ireland. We are doing this in order to increase the supply of the high quality untreated human hair which is used in the manufacture of wigs for people with alopecia and long term hair loss.
Brain Tumour Ireland - Brain Tumour Ireland was founded in 2012 by a small group of people caring for a family member who was sadly lost to a Brain Tumour. As a national organisation our aim is to continue to fight the battle against the disease in her honour.
Through Brain Tumour Ireland (The Ronnie Fehily Foundation) we hope to create a place where people can come for information, guidance and comfort. A place to learn what to expect and a community to provide support. Iin addition to supporting the brain tumour community we provide funding for medical research. As a fully registered member of the Charities Regulator, Brain Tumour Ireland is compliant with all rules and regulations concerning fundraising, both online and traditional.
