Story
Seven Friends walking the West Highland Way For Charity - Danny Fraser, Paul Hay, Phil Morgan,Mark Powers,Dougie Robb,Cammy Roy and Mark Sim ask you to donate generously.
We are just Seven Pretty? Ordinary guys who have decided to walk the West Highland Way at the beginning of May this year and raise money for one national charity (Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research) and one local charity (The Ayrshire Hospice) .
The West Highland Way is 95 miles long, running from Milngavie north of Glasgow to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands, with a lot of hill walking and sore feet on the route.About 85,000 people use the path every year and someone has amazingly run it in less than 16 hours. We are walking it in 5 days which is equivilent to five 20 mile sponsored walks one day after the other. Maybe run it next year!!!!
What we are doing will be a great experience and the amazing thing is you can donate to our chosen charity and help fund important research into all leukemia associated iillness(blood cancers).
Leukaemia & Lymphoma
28,500 people of all ages, from newborn babies to grandparents are diagnosed in the UK with blood cancers every year.Every 4 minutes one person is diagnosed with a blood cancer.New cases of leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma account for 10 percent of new cancer cases diagnosed.Leukemia causes more deaths than any other cancer among children and young adults under the age of 20.
Any research from Leukaemia & Lymphoma Reasearch in the UK benefits the worldwide community and is shared with other researchers throughout the world in places like Europe,Canada,USA, Australia, Asia.
