Challenge

Running 777 race miles to raise at least £7777 for NCH/Action for Children in memory of my brother Charles Lennard who passed away in February 2008, aged 15. 

So far.. 580.3 miles down 196.7 to go. 

News: Completed UK Iron Man (140m swim/cycle/run) - Sept 7th, Iron Man 70.3 in June,  London Marathon in 3h 37, Blackpool in 3h 29 and 100Km del Sahara between  3rd-7th March, see facebook for videos and pics!

About NCH/Action for Children

When I launched this challenge on 7/7/2007 the last thing on my mind was that I would end up running in Charles memory. NCH/Action for Children is a remarkable charity. As the largest children's charity in the UK they support more children, young people and families in need than any other.

On a personal level they provide a huge amount of support for children with severe learning difficulties, like my brother Charles. Specifically this support includes full time schools, such as Charles' school Penhurst where children are developed by 24/7 care & learning curriculum. Charles was lucky enough to attend this school for 4 months before his passing. From my family visits we know these months were some of the happiest in his life and it was incredible to see how much his development accelerated during this time.

NCH/Action for Children struggle to fund this and many other similar schools so many other special children and young people aren’t as lucky as Charles and his Penhurst friends and never get the care they need. Please help address this by giving as generously as you can to this remarkable cause.

July 1st  07- London British 10K (6.25m) - Complete   
October 14th 07 – Tough Challenge –Weald Park (26.2m) - Complete
January 19th 08 - Thames Path Ultra (50m) - Complete
March 1-8th 08 – 100K del Sahara Event (62.5m) - Complete
April 13th 08  – London Marathon (26.2m) - Complete - 3h 37 mins
June 15th 08– Iron Man UK 70.3 -Half (13.1m) - Complete - 6h 54
September 9th 08 – Iron Man UK 2008 (26.2) –  Complete - 14h. (Cycling miles don’t count!)
