Story
You may have heard the rumours, and yes it is true, but two ginger mutes, one dwarf, one gimp, one six foot two sleeping tablet, a bloke that looks like Mark Denney (but only fatter) and a Rugby World Cup Winner - 'Six Hawks and a British Lion' - are very soon going to cycle, in the middle of winter, from Nice to Paris (Feb 2010). The arduous trip will include a couple of days fighting with the Alps before heading through the Chablis region and hitting Paris. The five day trip entails us cycling on average 140 km each day.
What would pocess a man to do such a thing? Well there are 6 very good reasons; the Nice to Paris cycle ride is part of the Lawrence Dallaglio Cycle Slam.
Undertaking to raise money for Sports Relief and the newly formed Dallaglio Foundation, the former England captain Lawrence Dallaglio and his core team are riding between all stadia during the up coming 6 nations. Our leg, the Nice to Paris stage, is considered the hardest; as it is the longest and considering it is the coldest time of the year includes a ridiculous ascent of the Alps on days une and deux.
Our combined target is to raise £4,500, no matter how small the contribution it would be much appreciated if you could help towards our total.
Lawrence is hoping to raise £1million in total, and the money will be split between several charities including: (click "read more" bottom right).
