Story
After my Ironman this year I said I was done with physical challenges, but…
At our recent Starr Trust Celebration Night I was so moved by Nathan’s story to get to the next Paralympics that I just felt I had to step up and help him raise the money needed. Also with a lack of fundraising events for the Starr Trust in the last 18 months we are really needing financial support to enable us to help as many young people as we can in 2022 and beyond. So a new challenge was born! And of course it needs to be a big one if I am to get YOUR support and encourage you to share this with everyone you know. This challenge is going to be particularly tough because of its longevity as much as it’s effort and my aim is to raise over £100,000. ALL of the money raised – 100% - will fund Nathan and then other young people facing a roadblock, not a penny will go to running expenses. I will post more about this challenge in the New Year and really hope you will be able to support me as this will be my biggest challenge yet. As far as I can see it has not been done before.
I will be completing a full Olympic Distance Triathlon every single week in 2022. That is 1500 metre swim, straight into a 40k bike ride, straight into a 10k run. It will take me between 3–4 hrs to complete. I will be doing 52 of these next year, one a week. Even if my Crohn’s disease or Arthritis play up or if I am just tired, wherever I am or however I feel I will be doing an Olympic Triathlon every week.
So PLEASE help me raise this money and please share this around so we can together Remove as many Roadblocks for as many young people as possible and help them be the very best that they can be in 2022 and beyond. More to follow in the New Year and I will post regular updates here. Meanwhile my first one will be Sunday 2nd January 2022. What have I let myself in for?!
