Story

Hello, Paul Woodgate was incredible friend to me since we first met at university in 1994. Paul was someone I shared some of the best moments of my life, sharing a flat for a few years in Acton, watching the Wimbledon finals at centre court in 2001, trying (and always failing) to catch him at running races and regularly chatting politics, football etc over beers and curries.

Sadly in November, Paul died from cancer, aged 45. In the last month of his life Paul received incredible care in Meadow House Hospice, Ealing.

From 1st June I’m going to be raising money to support the work of Meadow House Hospice by running the number of miles for each day of the month, e.g. 10 miles on June 10th.  I've been training for 6 months for this challenge since seeing a story about Des Linden doing something similar last year.

My aim is to raise £465 in memory of Paul for the Meadow House Hospice, it's 465 because that's the number of miles in June unless my GSCE maths has let me down.. Any support you are able to give here would be very much appreciated.

On July 1 (after a rest and some doughnuts) I promise to double the final amount that is pledged here, which hopefully won't leave me with a budget deficit to rival any G7 nations!

I’ll be posting daily updates on #465forPaul between 1 - 30 June:
