Please help us in raising essential funds to continue support people affected by Dwarfism up and down the country... and support or mission in proving that; anyone. And we mean ANYONE; can set targets, challenges, and dreams for themselves.... and more so... achieve them; regardless of the physical makeup or abilities any of us hold.
Throughout October; which is Dwarfism Awareness Month, we will be walking/jogging 31 miles in 31 days...Whilst obeying the rules and regulations set by the government in the current UK Covid-19 climate, we will be taking on this activity to raise awareness and funds for Little People UK.
"Little People UK is a registered charity in England, that provides support and information to people of short stature and their families. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with dwarfism while celebrating with great pride, little people’s contribution to social diversity.
Each year we hold two events, which give our members a chance to meet up and take part in activities and workshops, to provide them with knowledge related to dwarfism, and also create an equal social environment where difference and ability are irrelevant, ensuring a positive and supportive future is being created. We have also produced a number of awareness-raising documents, such as videos, leaflets, and posters, with information regarding medical and social issues relating to dwarfism, to be distributed to the medical profession and also the wider public.
LPUK strives to bring solutions to global awareness to the prominent issues affecting individuals of short stature and their families and provide information and resources to see the community and the medical profession."
There are over 200 types of Dwarfism, and 80% of children with the condition are born to average height parents. Whilst the condition isn't rare within the UK- knowledge, and awareness of it, still is... which is why charities such as Little People UK hold such importance to those affected but also to the wider community in creating an understanding and accepting society,
Please help us in raising essential funds to continue support people affected by Dwarfism up and down the country... and support or mission in proving that; anyone can challenge themselves, and achieve their greatest potentials, regardless of their physical makeup.
