Story

Hello everybody who supported the WGGS 24 Hour Maths Lesson,

Thank you very much for your kind donation. With your help, we raised an awesome £5,679.94 online for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC).

JustGiving sends your donation straight to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

The success of the 24 Hour Maths lesson went far beyond my wildest dreams when it was first forming as an idea. I must thank the support of the Senior Team at Watford Girls' for allowing it to happen and for their guidance and advice - Mrs Hyde, Mr John and Miss Hart. Also, a huge thank you to my friends and colleagues who volunteered their time so enthusiastically to help teach during the 24 hours - without them the project would have been a non-starter. Thank you to Mr Daulby and Mr Gotting in the IT department whose incredible patience, knowledge and skills meant that the scope of the event was expanded across the internet with such success (and for the great trailer!)

Finally, thank you to the awesome girls of Year 11, Maths Set 3 who signed up with an infectious enthusiasm and drive that inspired me from the start. They are a fabulous group of young mathematicians who are passionate about the charity that they chose and the subject of Mathematics. I am sure that they will never forget the 8th and 9th of December 2011!

If you have a spare five minutes in the week coming up you may want to watch my tribute video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLJajtzfqTQ

I hope that you and your families have a great festive break and manage to fit some Maths in there somewhere.

Thank you again,

Michael Broadwith
