We fundraise for service personnel who are to making the transition to civilian life

Story

RAF Brize Norton / ASF

We are taking part in this charity event in order to help raise awareness for our Rugby for Heroes and eliminate any stigma surrounding mental health, encouraging people to speak up and realise they don’t have to suffer in silence. We have chosen this charity for many reasons, the main one being how beneficial for mental health and well-being playing sports and physical activity can be. Sports and physical activity causes the release of endorphins to your brain, improving your general mood. By taking part in team sports it allows you to socialise in a relaxed and joyful environment, making it easier to meet new people and find common interests.

Rugby for Heroes works with the rugby community to raise funds and awareness for military personnel who are making the transition to civilian life. “We are committed to providing financial and personal support, to help individuals overcome the many challenges that this transition presents.” Rugby for Heroes provides both financial and personal support.
