Story
We are a group of eager basketball players who want to do something amazing to raise money for Edith's Hope. If you could support our 12 hour marathon game by donating what you can we would really appreciate it.
Edith's Hope work alongside more than 350 children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in the community of Ngora, a small town in the Kumi District of Uganda. Orphaned families are supported from their moment of need, providing short term, immediate care and enrolling them into a long term programme providing education, resources and structure to enable them to live sustainably and independently.
All of the funds raised by our 12 hour basketball challenge will be going directly to Edith's Hope, to build homes for orphaned families supported by the Child Headed Families Project. These families are made up of orphaned children who have been receiving support from Edith’s Hope for the last four years. To provide them with the best start to their future, Edith’s Hope builds these families a purpose built, durable, sustainable home.
With each home costing £2,500 and our aim of raising £5,000, these home could be built. If you can donate anything at all, we would be incredibly grateful!
We will be posting updates on the construction of the homes and of our challenge!
Thank you so much for donating and if you would like to find out more about Edith's Hope, head to our website and make sure you are following our social media for updates on how the team are doing!
