Story
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
We are Kaz Kaczmarczyk and David More O’Ferrall, proud residents of Macclesfield and members of the Tytherington Club, the venue for our test of endurance, where both of us will complete the 100 hole marathon on the longest day, Saturday 20th June 2020. Whilst being average golfers, we are also very passionate about trying to help our local community, especially during these unprecedented times. We have chosen an amazing charity in Macclesfield, the East Cheshire Hospice as it is in much need of support.
The East Cheshire Hospice provides vitally important, high-quality care to patients with life limiting illnesses and much needed support for their families and friends. They have served our community for over 30 years, yet the Hospice only receives 20% of its funding from the Government - the rest has to be generated through fundraising and donations. During the current Covid 19 pandemic, all of the major fundraising events have been cancelled and yet the Hospice continues to provide much needed front line clinical care and at home support.
Our challenge will begin very early, approx 4.30am, on the longest day (20th June 2020), at The Tytherington Club and end an exhausting 16hrs-ish later (🤞)
We would like to thank the General Manager, Jamie McDonald, for kindly giving us the opportunity to complete the most challenging endurance in golf, the 100 hole Marathon.
Help us to help the Hospice at their time of greatest need, by donating to our Challenge. With your support we can make a difference.
PS. It truly is a marathon as we will each walk in excess of 26.2 miles on the day!
Wish us Luck!
Many thanks,
David and Kaz
