Story
Just before Christmas last year I decided to start a new resolution early, to go running every day and see if I could run 1000 miles in a year.
It really was a way to have something positive to work on at a difficult time in my life. some headspace every day. I hoped it might also be something that could raise awareness for a charity close to my heart.
Some of you may know that yesterday was the anniversary of my daughter Graces death 2 years ago. In the most difficult last weeks we were massively supported by a local Charity - The Sussex Snowdrop Trust. A specialist Community Nursing Team for Children with terminal illness. I want to use my running challenge to raise awareness & some money for them to care for other families.
I called it the 1000 smiles run club because each day I run I think about Grace and her smiles keep me going, because no matter how hard I'm finding things mentally being outside and getting moving always makes helps and brings me a smile and finally because using this challenge to help Snowdrop means that we can help bring a smile to people who have to experience one of the hardest things, losing a child.
I wasn't sure I could do this challenge because I had tried and failed twice before. But with over 960 miles in my legs so far I think I can make it but I need your help to make this year count & help me over the line.
I have less than 2 weeks left to go , I finish my year-long challenge on Sunday 22nd December. I will be running a Marathon on the last day to finish it off with one last challenge!
