Story
Tough Mudder is a series of 10-12 mile-long military-style obstacle courses, designed by British Special Forces to test mental as well as physical strength and also as a great way to raise money for charities. As you can guess from the name, it involves lots of mud!
After taking part in a Tough Mudder in April, and thoroughly enjoying the challenge and teamwork, Dan White and I decided that completing more was inevitable. We looked at the events available to decide where to attend. As with many things that seem like a good idea at the time, this quickly escalated from “one or two in the UK” to “all of the UK and Ireland events, plus one in Germany!”. When we realised that would be eight more runs in total, we decided to round it up by completing two of them on both the Saturday and Sunday runs, giving 10 more in total and over 100 miles of muddy obstacle courses to complete in 2014.
June:
Scotland Completed!
July: Midlands
August: Yorkshire and South West on
both Saturday and Sunday
September: North West
October: Dublin,
Hamburg and, for the finale, London South on Saturday and Sunday!
All that was left was to decide on a charity to raise money for. So, between June and the end of October we will be travelling around the UK and visiting Dublin and Hamburg to raise money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. Unless we can talk someone in to sponsoring us, everything will be self-funded and all money raised goes to ABF.
