Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As all of you will know ... I'm not the fittest of people so this half marathon is going to be a real challenge for me. If that wasn't enough, just to make it a bit more interesting, I'll be doing this at midnight (when I'd much rather be tucked up warm in bed) with a visible bra with thousands of like minded women & men apparently!
It's all for a great cause. Worldwide, more than a million women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. In the UK alone 250,000 women are affected by breast cancer and the disease is responsible for 12,500 deaths every year, including my Aunt. Every pound you contribute will really make a difference ... You can find out more about the charity and the MoonWalk at http://www.walkthewalk.org/AboutUs/OurHistory.
Justgiving makes it so quick, easy and totally secure. It's also mega efficient for the charity as the money goes straight to them and if you are a UK tax payer and tick the box then Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please dig deep and sponsor me now!
Thank you.
Zeb
Update 1: Had a practice walk Fryent Park .. and found several muscles that had obviously lay dormant for many years now.
Update 2: Another practice walk .. using the capital ring walk through Greenford, Horsenden Hill, Harrow on the Hill ... OMG ... legs turned into lead weights after 3 hours ... Bitterly cold but thankfully no rain. Someone's looking out for me. :)
Update 4: I am suddenly aware of just how close the walk is and the muscle ache from my last practice walk which took me four hours! Need some serious fundraising action too!!
Update 5: Just two more weekend walks before the big day .. Big Sis managed to join the team on the practice walk this weekend and I think she was suitably impressed.
Update 6: Just two days to go and Zuhayl has managed to pass his lurghies on to me!! Suffering from a blocked nose and headache but I'll be completing this walk even if it takes me three days! I've booked the Monday off work just in case!
Update 7: Still suffering but also experiencing range of emotions as I get closer to midnight! Excitement, anxiety .. down right fear!! Will be taking pictures and will post up on facebook very soon. Many thanks to all of you.
13.1 miles and it's finally over!! Thank you to everyone who donated and encouraged me. I couldn't have completed this half marathon without you all.
