Story
Heya,
This is yikici setting on a fundraising expedition, I've always wanted to raise money for charity through an event like this and now here I am doing so.
Why am I here and doing this? There are many reasons:
1. My good friend asked me if I'd consider it.
2. I suffer from panic attacks and am recovering from depression; I see Shine as a positive goal to help me further beat both these debilitating mind-sets, I am fighting this with natural will-power, without any medication, I believe I can succeed this.
3. I know a lot of people suffering from cancer, a lot who I respect, therefore this is one way I can show them my support.
Sadly everyone we know comes in contact with cancer -be it through personal experiences or through your loved ones. In the past years -I too have had family members (and extended families), close friends relatives and some colleagues/acquaintances live through this (with good or not so preferred results). Therefore, when my good friend Katie (her fundraising page) asked me if I'd like to join her in the Shine half-marathon, I really did not have to think any further, I wanted to do this on so many levels and if I can do my bit raising money by walking 13.1 miles at a ridiculous time in the night, so be it. I want this year to count for many reasons, if you want to help me achieve this goal of mine, then please support me in my cause.
Thank you for popping by and taking the time to read my page.
