Story
My grandmother passed away recently and during the last few years of her life she was suffering by dementia. She was tired and disappointed that dementia was stealing her memories, often getting sad and angry, even blaming herself for forgetting, but then she would light up when I'd tell her "it's fine, don't worry" or when she would call my name, one of the few things she would not forget.
This year I am participating in the Memory Walk on World Alzheimer's Day, Saturday 21 September 2024, in Coventry, to honour the life of my grandmother, to show my support to my other family members that live with Dementia, to raise awareness and to give back to Alzheimer's Society.
