Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page, created on behalf of the Wreath of Respect Motorcycle Ride, raising funds for the RBL via the Riders branch 10 year Million challenge.

Introduction to Wreath of Respect.

The Wreath of Respect is a project where England, Wales, Scotland and the Isle of Man can show respect to all those who have given so much in the past 100 years and continue to do so today, our boys and girls are on the front line risking the ultimate, their lives for us.

The Wreath of Respect is not just for serving and non-serving uniformed personnel, it is also a way of saying thank you to all those who gave their lives, the casualties in WW1, WW2, past and on going conflicts. During these conflicts we have had many Moms, Dads, Brothers, Sisters, Nans, Grandads and families having to carry on with their life when loved ones have been away on service. Our hearts and feelings go out to those who wait in anticipation for their safe return.

We have all seen the amazing pictures from the D-Day landings and all comment how remarkable these events are and we feel that many people would like to show respect but, do not have the time to show support.

This is why the Wreath of Respect has been organised, to travel the United Kingdom over 7 days. The Wreath has been especially commissioned for the event and will be laid to rest for the 6 nights while travelling the United Kingdom. The Wreath will start the journey of Respect from the National Memorial Arboretum and will return on the last day for a service of dedication with a 2 minutes silence and the last post. The Wreath will then be laid to rest at the Memorial and will be on display. We could not think of a more fitting place to lay the Wreath to rest after completing the respectful journey.

During the respectful journey and at each City, Town, and Village the Wreath visits, Serving and Non-Serving personnel and members of the public will be able to see the Wreath, take time to reflect and have personnel thoughts of what it means to each and every one of you. On some of the nights, the Wreath will be laid to rest with a service and blessing for members of the general public and those entrusted with carrying the Wreath around the United Kingdom to attend. We believe there may be Books of Remembrance opened for your thoughts to be put into writing, it may be a message to a lost or loved one.

The Wreath of Respect is a project that will be bring people together to say thank you to all those who have given so much.

To all that are involved in the Wreath of Respect, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them". Amen.
