UNICEF UK DONATIONS
Taken from the Unicef UK website:
We believe that every child has the right to the best possible start in life. It is wrong for children to die needlessly; it is imperative to prevent their unnecessary deaths. Every child has the right to the highest standards of health and education. It is imperative to work to attain these standards. It is possible to give every child a good start in life. The world can, if it chooses, ensure that every child grows and develops to their full, human potential. Children are citizens of the communities and the societies that they live in. Their voices should be heard and their opinions heeded by all.
"Some say Usain Bolt's world record that stands at 9.58 is the most impressive feat in athletics history but the members of Sheffield University Orienteering Club (ShUOC) like to push the boundaries of human endevour beyond that previously thought possible.
This year we will attempt to go where no camel has gone before and break the world record for the fastest two person pantomime fancy dress costume to ever run a half marathon in the 4 billion year history of planet earth."
We hope to have a fleet of camels and other exotic animals on the start line - recent reports suggest a tiger will be in attendence.
Our efforts will be focussed on raising money for Leukamia and Lymphoma research and Unicef.
