Story

I, Russ, have for many a year harboured the desire to walk the South West Coastal Footpath from Minehead in Somerset to Poole in Dorset, some 630 miles and with accumulative climbs equivalent to climbing Everest four times!  Crumbs!!  And to do it all in one long walk.  Mad!!! Now retired, Eddie Izzards successive marathons have inspired me to attempt my own challenge, confident that with the right motivation and support even an untrained and relatively unfit person can accomplish seemingly impossible feats of courage and endurance!

Well, the story continues.  One evening last summer my wife, Gill, and I were having supper with friends Liz and Andy.  I began waxing lyrical about walking the SW Coast Path etc, etc, when suddenly, out of the blue, Liz said “I’ll do it with you!”  What!  Fantastic! I was struck dumb! A walking buddy and a kindred spirit!  I was so shocked that I left it a couple of weeks before plucking up the courage to mention the subject again just in case I had misheard Liz or she had had a change of heart! We'll be joined by Fizzy the Collie too:-)

Thanks for visiting, and please donate to this great cause.

Love, Russell, Liz and Fizzy
