Wheelers for Watamu (Happy House)

Story:

Chris O’Hare, his son Jacob, and Chris's girlfriend Gabriella Gratrix, will be volunteering at the Happy house Children’s Home this summer, Chris and Gabriella are both members of Poulton Wheelers Cycling Club

Chris and Gabriella are fundraising for this remarkable children’s home by organising a really demanding cycling challenge – a 150 mile coast to coast ride from Whitby to Blackpool on June 14, taking in some really tough terrain and steep climbs, this is normally done over 4 or 5 days, but the cycling team will be doing this over 1 day!

They are enlisting support from their fellow cycling enthusiasts in this challenge and those already committed to taking part are:

1)Chris OHare , 2)Gabriella Gratrix 3)Scott Taylor, 4)Steve Wilson, 5)Sean Devlin, 6)Ian Walker, 7)Ian Kitson, 8)James Godwin, 9)Joanne Adams, 10)Barrie Hadgraft, 11)Daz Cremona, 12)David Gigli, 13)Paul Brackpool, 14)Alex Cremona, 15)Iain Brownbridge, 16)Mike Ryan, 17)Alex Williams,   18)Dawid Bednarek, 19)Steve Cox, 20)Asa Brown, 21)Andrew Moxon, 22)Stephen Beesley

The ride will require determination, stamina and dedication – the same traits that Sue Hayward needed when she embarked on her mission to build her Happy House and create a safe and loving family home, and school, for children who have been orphaned, abandoned, neglected or abused.

They hope to raise at least £5,000 to help make life better and brighter for Mama Sue’s growing family (80 in February 2014).
