The money that you, and West Ham United raise through this site will go towards funding vital bowel cancer research in the UK.

Since 1993, with the help of people like you, we have raised over £10 million and funded an amazing 36 research projects, varying in length between one and three years. In 2008 alone, we started funding an additional three projects including one in Leeds, one at the London Research Institute and one at Queen's University inBelfast. We have lots more projects currently being assessed as potential funding opportunities for 2009 as well.  It is so exciting to know that we really are making a difference - not just in terms of the research work funded, but also in terms of spreading the word about bowel cancer and ensuring people know about the symptoms and therefore do not delay seeking advice if they have any worrying symptoms.

 

Although progress is being made, bowel cancer still remains the second highest cause of cancer death in theafter lung cancer, claiming the lives of 44 men and women each day. Despite this terrible statistic, death rates from bowel cancer are falling, but we still have so much to do. With the help of people like you, we will in Bobby's memory tackle bowel cancer.
