Thank you for taking time to visit our just giving page.
We are entered as Team 47 on the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run 2016. This is our first attempt at this 2 yearly event and will be using our Gentry Roadster which is a kitcar based on a 1968 Triumph Herald.
The aim of the Club Triumph Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR) is for about 150 teams to drive approximately 2000 miles continually from Knebworth to John O'Groats to Land's End to Knebworth Hertfordshire in 48 hours.
The event is held from 7th October to 9th October 2016. This also happens to be the 50th anniversary of the first RBRR. To successfully complete the event, we are setting off along with the other teams from Knebworth Hertfordshire on Friday evening and then must visit about 17 or so pre-arranged Control Stops to arrive at Knebworth on the Sunday evening. To drive the 2000 miles in 48 hours no overnight stops are taken, therefore it will be necessary for each of us to share the driving, so whilst one of us is driving, the other is sleeping in the passenger seat. There are two breakfast stops built into the event, these being at John O'Groats and Land's End. Vehicles that can be used are the Standard-Triumph motor cars that were produced up until 1984.
The event has had a charitable basis since 1990 and has raised over £510,000.00 for various UK charities, details can be found on the Club Triumph website. Last time in 2014 the event raised nearly £60000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. For this RBRR, Club Triumph wishes to raise a sum of over £60000, however it would be great to raise £90000 and therefore push the grand total of raising to over £600000!
