Regarding the Target [edit: 02/08]: When I initially created this page, the target was a random number that I thought was both an amount to be proud of, and an accessable one. However, due to overwhemling generosity (thank you SO much to everyone who's donated so far!), we're currently only £10 off! This is amazing, but if we can get even higher (perhaps even reach £200...?) that would be better still. So please continue your brilliant work; I know Richard would be very proud.
On the 14th June 2009, my fantastic, talented, courageous and irreplacable friend Richard Watson lost his 5 year battle with bone cancer at the age of only 22. During his life, he worked hard to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and in particular his goal was to see a teenage cancer unit built at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, England. The TCT need to raise £1,000,000 for this to become a reality. All money raised is to go towards the Addenbrookes appeal.
What started out as just myself and my 24-year-old mare, Pepsi, completing an 11 mile walk to help raise funds, will now see us joined by other people who knew and loved Richard, as well as a second horse donated for the day by Waldburg Shires. Richard was very fond of the heavy horses, so it is fitting that there should be one to help raise money for a cause he firmly believed in.
