Story
I am Matilda, I am 5 years old and have a twin brother called Matthew. We were born 10 weeks premature and I have cerebral palsy. I cannot walk without falling onto my knees and need to use a walking frame or walking sticks to stay upright. The Doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital have told me about an operation that could allow me to walk. Its called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, or SDR which the NHS will not pay for. Great Ormond Street Hospital asked the NHS to pay for it but they said no. Without this operation I will always be in a wheelchair need many more operations on my legs.
In the early part of 2014 there is the opportunity for me to have the operation if I can pay for it myself. This will cost £25,648, which includes the operation and two weeks hospital care. My moneybox does not have enough money in it and I need some help.
How can we ever thank you all? People all over the world you are amazing
Should we exceed the target amount or if we do not raise enough funds or if they cannot be used for any other reason the funds raised will go to general funds of Tree of Hope for other sick Children
