Story
My brother Robbi Reardon passed away with an inoperable brain tumour at the young age of 7.
Robbi had a brain tumour and my father applied for him to be a match day mascot. West ham granted Robbi his wish and he was named mascot for that game. The West Ham team treated Robbie like he was family, with Tony Gale, The clubs captain at that time, looking after Robbi on and off the pitch. We had players sign Robbi's autograph book at half-time during the game. My father always tells be about this story. Robbi was then invited by West ham to attend the Replay at the Boleyn Ground. My dad has shown me a Programme from the replay which has Robbi posing on the cover with Tony Gale. It is to my understanding that Robbi was the first non player to appear on the cover of a West Ham Programme. Sadly my Brother passed away due to his tumour on 25th March 1991, a few months after being mascot and 2 years before I was born.
