Story
A fun 7 a-side Indoor Cricket Tournament is being organised in Aberdeen at Shell Woodbank on Saturday 17th September from 11am to 6pm to raise funds for the East Africa Appeal. A similar event was run in 2010 after the floods disaster in Pakistan when over £12,000 was raised by members of the community with sizeable donations from various companies. This time we are looking to involve more Multinational companies from Aberdeen and really show what we can do when we come together with a common purpose and goal. We want people donate generously on the day, either with cash or cheques payable to the “DEC East Africa Crisis Appeal” or to donate via the “JustGiving” :

East Africa is facing one of the worst droughts in 60 years.
As a consequence 11 million people in East Africa are now facing starvation.
During a food crisis, malnutrition means people are more vulnerable to disease: cases of life threatening illnesses such as diahorrea and measles are on the rise.
The increase in vulnerability to disease affects children worst.
Our members agencies are working to save lives: delivering food and clean water, vaccinating children and providing life-saving health-care.
Please donate - you will save lives.
£20 can vaccinate 20 children against deadly measles
£50 can feed a family of six for two weeks
£100 can buy four family hygiene kits to prevent the spread of disease
