Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
You never know what is around the corner... One of our group was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in November 2011. Those first few days after diagnosis, when you do not really know what is in store for you, can be a very worrying time. What treatment will you need? Will you cope? How will you tell your children?
Breast Cancer Care helps patients and their relatives with comprehensive, accessible, information, to guide them through diagnosis, treatment and facing the future. They also provide a helpline for anyone affected by Breast Cancer.
Our friend found them to be a great help. Now that she is recovering, we wish to help Breast Cancer Care continue with their work, helping whoever is affected by this all too common disease.
In 2012, we cycled 170 miles across England, from Morecambe to Bridlington on The Way of The Roses. We raised over £4,000. This year we are going to tackle the Lancashire Cycleway, which is a figure of 8 route around the whole of Lancashire. We plan to do the Northern loop (128 miles) in May and the Southern loop (138 miles) at a later date, when we're allowed out again.
We were spurred on by the donations made whilst we cycled last year, so we decided to collect as we go along this time. If anyone wishes to donate to our page again this year, then all the better!
Raising money for a cause that has already helped so many people would add an extra special (pink!) ribbon to our acheivement.
